Curriculum Vitae of Ho Iat Seng

 

Born in Macao in June 1957, with his ancestral homeland in Zhejiang, Ho Iat Seng is currently the Managing Director of Ho Tin Industries Ltd. and the Chairman of Ho Tin Investment and Development Ltd.

Ho Iat Seng was a member of the Selection Committee for the First Government of the Macao SAR in 1999, and also a member of the Election Committee of the Second, Third and Fourth term Chief Executive of the Macao SAR.

In 2004, Ho Iat Seng was appointed as a member of the second term of Executive Council, a member of Economic Development Council and a member of Science, Technology and Innovation Council of the Macao SAR.

From 2009 to 2013, Ho Iat Seng served as an indirectly elected member and the vice president of the 4th term of Legislative Assembly of Macao SAR and meanwhile resigned as a member of the Executive Council.

Ho Iat Seng held the post of an indirectly elected member and the president of the 5th term of Legislative Assembly of Macao SAR between 2014 and 2017.


Since 2018, Ho Iat Seng was an indirectly elected member and the president of the 6th term of Legislative Assembly of Macao SAR, and he had resigned as an indirectly elected member and the president of the 5th term of Legislative Assembly of Macao SAR on the 5th of July of 2019.

Ho Iat Seng had been a member and a standing Committee member of the 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference of Zhejiang Province.

Ho Iat Seng had been one of the Macau deputies of the 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th and 13th National People’s Congress and a member of its Standing Committees since 2000. In April 2019, he resigned as the Macau deputy of the 13th NPC from the NPC Standing Committee.

Ho Iat Seng has been serving for many social organizations in Macao, and has been enthusiastic about educational and cultural undertakings all the time. In addition, he has long held quite a number of positions in Mainland social organizations.

Honorary Vice President and Honorary President of the Charity Fund from the Readers of the Macao Daily News
Honorary President of Macao Region China Council for the Promotion of Peaceful National Reunification
Member of the University Assembly of University of Macau

Member of the Board of Trustees of Macau University of Science and Technology Foundation

In 1999, Ho Iat Seng was awarded the Industrial & Commercial Merit Medal by the Governor of Macao;
In 2001, he was awarded the Industrial & Commercial Merit Medal by the Government of Macao SAR;
In 2009, he was awarded the Honorable Medal Golden Lotus Flower by the Government of Macao SAR.
